Description Lev Makhlis 2005-03-21 16:32:04 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041020

Description of problem:
dmidecode version is too old and is not aware of the /sys/firmware/efi/systab file that needs to be used on Itanium with Linux 2.6.6-rc3 and up.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-utils-2.4-13.1.48

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dmidecode

Actual Results: # dmidecode 2.2
/dev/mem: Bad address

Expected Results: SMBIOS/DMI table content

Additional info:

dmidecode v2.5 seems to be the first release to address this.
I tried the current release, v2.6, and it works fine.
