We use a lot of trace-cmd python plugins, and it's annoying that python support is missing, forcing a local rebuild. Could it be made available, perhaps as a separate package to avoid a python dependency?
Technically I believe this is not hard. I will review the python binding packaging guidelines and work on this later on.
This is blocked. Fix sent to upstream. https://lkml.org/lkml/2018/2/3/422
Hi, This is now available in Fedora 28 as trace-cmd-python2-2.7-2.fc28. Do you also want this in Fedora 27?
Hey, thanks! I'm on FC27 here. If it not too hard for you, it'd be great to have it on 27 as well.
Hi Emmanuel and Johannes, Although this is technically easy for Fedora 27, I double-checked the Fedora Updates Policy, where it said I shouldn't add new features to stable releases (for this case I mean F27). And I don't think this fits for an exception. So I'm also closing this as nextrelease.
All right. Thanks!
