yum list does not show some packages ...

yum-2.0.7-1.1

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum list *gtk*

  

Actual Results:  Looking in Available Packages:
Name                                Arch   Version                  Repo
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looking in Installed Packages:
Name                                Arch   Version                  Repo
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------



Expected Results:  Should show all packages containing gtk particularly the ones I installed


Additional info:

If I try:

yum list gtkmm20

I get:

Try:
yum list \*gtk\*

the shell is expanding the *'s out and finding nothing, hence why you're getting
nothing.

So you have to escpae the *'s
