any news about this ?

Comment 2 Alfredo Moralejo 2018-06-05 14:48:45 UTC
Version 2.6.0 was released https://pypi.org/project/Babel/#history

Fedora 28 no longer has a GUI for PostgreSQL. The GUI it used to have, pgadmin3, is not compatible with version 10, which Fedora 28 is using.

THIS REPRESENTS A LOST OF FUNCTIONALITY WITH A NEWER VERSION OF FEDORA.

To fix that, pgadmin must be upgraded to version 4. This is one of the bugs blocking it.

When can we see this resolved and pushed to Fedora 28, so that we may once again have a GUI for PostgreSQL?

I think you commented on the wrong bug, how is babel related to pgadmin?

Can you update your pull request to 2.6.0? I'll make sure I can merge this is a more timely manner then :-) Otherwise I can take a stab at this next week.

This bug is blocking #1380826 due to the newer version being a prerequisite for pgadmin4.

I'm sorry, I did not see that.

However I'm curious: Why does pgadmin4 depend on babel 2.5.3? At a first glance I did not see that version requirement in the spec file and we have 2.5.1 in F28 (it would be unusual that a package actually needs 2.5.3 as opposed to 2.5.1).

Anyway, we should update babel in rawhide of course (probably 2.5.3 to F28 and 2.6.0 for rawhide).

I'm not sure if it is a direct requirement, or a prereq to upgrade another package that is a direct requirement.

For a definite answer, you'd need to ask Devrim Gündüz, who has been working on the pgadmin4 spec file and prereqs.

I pushed babel 2.6.0 to rawhide and 2.5.3 to F28 (as 2.6.0 contains some potentially incompatible changes).
