Description Roger Coffman 2005-05-13 21:35:33 UTC
Description of problem: At the completion of installation, I noticed my "Wheel
Mouse (USB)" and ethernet card are not responding. During the bootstrap, I
noticed a Failure message for my ethernet connection. The error message stated
that it couldn't identify my card. It shows eth0 as "3c501", we
selected "Intel EtherExpress/1000 gigabit". I went to Red Hat Support website
and downloaded the following driver
(Intel_LAN_70_RHLinux_RPM_RHES2.1_07.tar.gz). I installed and executed this
driver.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Network: Intel
PRO Family of Adapters, Driver, Enterprise Linux, English, Multi System, v7.0,
A01

How reproducible: Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS - Version3 (for the x86
architecture) on a Dell Precision WorkStation 670. I selected the "Intel
EtherExpress/1000 gigabit" option.

Expected results: A usable ethernet connection.

Additional info: I never got a chance to execute the new driver for the USB
ports (echi-hcd-2.4.21.15.dell1-2dkms.tgz).
