Description of problem: The bug came um in the Mixxx community, but it seems, that this is a qt4 problem, rather than a Mixxx problem. As a result, the Javascript bindings of Mixxx, that worked in F27 don't work in F28 anymore. When compiling Mixxx with "qt5=1", the Javascript functions do work, like they did with qt4 in F27. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): E.g. the mixxx rpm from Unitedrpms, compiled with qt4. mixxx-2.1.70-1.git5667a0d.fc28.x86_64 Link to the bug report in for Mixxx: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1770079
Do you know if Mixxx using qtscript for this functionality? It's possible this is a qt4 variant of what we saw with qt5-qtscript with gcc8, bug #1551246 . The workaround there was to build using -O1 instead -O2 I'll try that
Confirmed that qt4's qtscript is broken, 'calculator' from qt-examples fails similarly as a test-case on my f28/x86_64 box as did in bug #1551246
Yes, Mixxx still uses QtScript. We're aware it has been deprecated and have started planning to migrate to QJSEngine.
Thanks for the confirmation, fixed builds on the way (pending some quick local testing I'm doing).
