How reproducible:
Always

1. Create a new repository
Alt
1. Update a content view

Actual results:
the popup notification blocks the action button(s).

Expected results:
the popup does not block the action button(s).

Additional info:
See attached gif for demonstration.

Note: it was mentioned that this behavior exists on several pages.

Moving Tomas' NEEDINFO from bug 1635287 (duplicate) to here:

I'm not sure what is the optimal solution here. Is it a big deal at all?
I guess floating notifications will always cover some part of the screen.

Do you have any ideas, Roxanne?

We're actually discussing this in PF. It's a problem several applications are running into. I'm advocating that the pattern be changed so the notification appears in a more central location.

Notification issue on RHSAT 6.5

Comment 8 Oliver Falk 2019-03-14 12:05:51 UTC
Added a screenshot from today on RHSAT 6.5. This is really an annoying issue. We we just move the notifications a bit down to not hide the button, that would already fix the problem.

Rox do you have any thoughts on this?

The Satellite Team is attempting to provide an accurate backlog of bugzilla requests which we feel will be resolved in the next few releases. We do not believe this bugzilla will meet that criteria, and have plans to close it out in 1 month. This is not a reflection on the validity of the request, but a reflection of the many priorities for the product. If you have any concerns about this, feel free to contact Red Hat Technical Support or your account team. If we do not hear from you, we will close this bug out. Thank you.

I think there are a few options for solving this and it's worth discussing:

- have toast notifications disappear after a few seconds
- have a dedicated area on the screen for toasts
- have them appear as a banner that pushes other content down, instead of appearing on top of content

Thank you for your interest in Satellite 6. We have evaluated this request, and while we recognize that it is a valid request, we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. This is due to other priorities for the product, and not a reflection on the request itself. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please do not reopen. Instead, feel free to contact Red Hat Technical Support. Thank you.
