Description Beat Rubischon 2018-06-06 07:04:25 UTC
Description of problem:

The list of impacted systems of a specific rule shows currently the name of the server and the last checkin time. Depending on the rule additional information like the type of server would help a sysadmin to quickly understand the overall picture of a message and act accordingly.

The string delivered by "dmidecode" in the field "Product Name" would by a valuable add on to the affected systems list of the MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION test.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Insights as per June 6th 2018.

How reproducible:

always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Navigate to Rules
2. Search for MCE
3. Click "Affected systems"

Actual results:

The list shows the names of the servers.

Expected results:

The list contains the system type.

Thank you for your interest in Insights. We have evaluated this request, and while we recognize that it is a valid request, we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. This is due to other priorities for the product, and not a reflection on the request itself. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please do not reopen. Instead, feel free to contact Christian Marineau. Thank you.
