From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050513 Fedora/1.0.4-1.3.1 Firefox/1.0.4 Description of problem: When I use "Open" link from Tools->Downloads, Firefox doesn't open OO documents (tested with writer). After investigation I discovered that it calls (for example): /usr/lib/ooo-1.1/program/soffice.bin //home/szpak/foo.doc (spied on using htop) In some applications (e.g. OpenOffice-1.1.3-11.5.0) this couse that app closes automatically, because it doesn't find specified file. After downgrade to firefox-1.0.3 and install nightly build (20050518) it still happens. It's possible that "//" is intended and it's problem with OO, but I haven't found that bug. From Nautilus OO is called with "normal" path with one slash ("/"). Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): firefox-1.0.4-1.3.1 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download some OO (tested with writer) document 2. Call "Open" from "Downloads" (CTRL-Y) Actual Results: OO closes after splash screen. Expected Results: OO should open document. Additional info:
Fedora Core 3 is now maintained by the Fedora Legacy project for security updates only. If this problem is a security issue, please reopen and reassign to the Fedora Legacy product. If it is not a security issue and hasn't been resolved in the current FC5 updates or in the FC6 test release, reopen and change the version to match. Thank you!
In FC5 (currently Firefox 1.5.0.4 and OO 2.0.2) document is opened as: /usr/lib/openoffice.org2.0/program/swriter.bin -writer file:///home/szpak/foo.doc and it works properly. I don't know if it worked in FC4 (I haven't used it) Closing the bug.
