RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

dump from the installed

I'm trying to provision a new Dell R640 server to boot from iSCSI share.

I've provisioned a new LUN on the SAN and allocated it to R640 node.

In the installer I added a new iSCSI storage domain and clicked "DONE" button. At this stage the error message appeared on the screen (screenshot attached).

I dumped the log into the file and attached it to this ticket.

I was looking at the log in more details. It looks like ovirt-node-ng requires more than 32G of disk space to install.

I've now increased the side of iSCSI disk to 64GB and the installation finished successfully.

Maybe it's worth changing the error message to be more descriptive or add a warning when available storage is below ovirt-node-ng requirements.

From anaconda.log:

ValueError: not enough free space in volume group

This should be presented to users rather than an unknown error

Comment 6 Rob Sanders 2018-06-15 14:52:25 UTC
Also, currently when this error occurs you all setup allows you to do is to quit - which restarts the machine - and you have to start the provisioning from the ground up (takes a while when you're provisioning an ovirt node with multiple bonds/vlans/bridges).

Adding the ability to continue and add additional disks would be useful.

Didn't make it in RHEL 7, moving out to RHEL 8
