Description of problem:
I tried to suspend.  The laptop screen switched off, but the laptop did not completely suspend -- wireless light and keyboard lights remained active.

The laptop was still generating heat, but the fans weren't kicking in.

The only solution was a hard reboot (power button 5 secs)
