system hangs when loading grub, screen only displays "LI"

Description of problem:
After install of Fedora Core 4, system reboots and hangs on load displaying "LI" and never does anything.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot system
This probably means either you installed the bootloader on a partition, and
there's an old LILO bootblock on the MBR, or you're booting to some device other
than the one the bootloader is installed to. How are your disks and partitions

This bug was originally filed against a much earlier version of Fedora
Core, and significant changes have taken place since the last version
