Description Miro Hrončok 2018-09-10 13:58:56 UTC
In line with the Mass Python 2 Package Removal [0], all (sub)packages of python-ncclient were marked for removal:

 * python2-ncclient

According to our query, those packages only provide a Python 2 importable module. If this is not true, please tell us why, so we can fix our query.

Please retire your package in Rawhide (Fedora 30).

If there is no objection in a week, we will retire the package for you.

We hope this doesn't come to you as a surprise. If you want to know our motivation for this, please read the change document [0].

Retired in rawhide.

Upgraded to Fedora 29 and found that my Ansible playbooks no longer worked, as Ansible now uses /usr/bin/python3 and there is no python3-ncclient package available.

Are there any plans to include a python3-ncclient package at some point? According to https://pypi.org/project/ncclient/, Python 3 should be supported upstream.

Tore

(Note that I've retired python-ncclient and it only included python2-ncclient, there was no python3-ncclient.)

That said, I am not aware of any plans to include python3-ncclient.
