Proposal revert new authent algo (broken) until a better fix is available upstream (have been reverted upstream in upcoming 7.2.11)
With old versions (5.4.16 in RHEL or 7.0.27, 7.1.8 in RHSCL) we have a "access denied" (only when new authentication module is enabled) With 7.2.10 we got PHP Warning: mysqli_connect(): Unexpected server respose while doing caching_sha2 auth: 99 in /root/tests/my8.php on line 12 And the process hangs, which seems terribly bad. So the proposal is to revert to same behavior as old versions, following upstream https://github.com/php/php-src/commit/03740ef7dffcc80530a89ebde3ccf5464f7f18e6#diff-74b4da421ff56d55e241032f33450d93 (which wil be in upcomming 7.1.23 and 7.2.11)
