Description Miro Hrončok 2018-12-28 16:58:34 UTC
In line with the Mass Python 2 Package Removal [0], the following (sub)packages of python-cookies were marked for removal:

 * python2-cookies

According to our query, those (sub)packages only provide a Python 2 importable module. If this is not true, please tell us why, so we can fix our query.

Please remove them from your package.

As said in the change document, if there is no objection in a week, we will remove the package(s) as soon as we get to it. This change might not match your packaging style, so we'd prefer if you did the change. If you need more time, please let us know here.

If you do the change yourself, it would help us a lot by reducing the amount of packages we need to mass change.

We hope this doesn't come to you as a surprise. If you want to know our motivation for this, please read the change document [0].

I was expecting this, but: I should not be listed as the owner of this package, and have no idea why I am. I have never touched it (my name does not appear in the commit log). The review request bug was https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1297704 - the package was imported and has been maintained by Germano Massullo (added to CC) until 2016. Since then it has had only automated rebuilds.

I'm not sure who you report "I'm listed as the owner of a package I should not be the owner of at all" to, though, or where. So I'm a bit stuck.

I suggest:

 1. contacting Germano (as you've just done)
 2. releng ticket
 3. orphaning the package

I added you years ago as co-maintainer after a email and/or IRC chat message exchange between us. I don't remember the details. When I left the package you become the main member. Obviously feel free to orphan it.

Have a nice day

ah that explains it! Thanks. I guess i'll orphan it so it gets retired if no-one else wants it.
