RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Github sosreport sos pull 1532 0 None closed [manpages] Fix path for docs in /usr/share/doc 2020-05-06 14:59:20 UTC

Description Jose Castillo 2019-01-09 13:05:14 UTC
This bug was found via the RHEL 8 Beta CEE Readiness initiative, so opening this BZ for tracking.

Description of problem:
In the Makefile we have specified the path for sosreport docs as:

install -m644 AUTHORS README.md $(DESTDIR)/usr/share/$(NAME)/.

And NAME is 'sos'. But in the manpage we have the path as
/usr/share/doc/sosreport. This fix changes that to 'sos'.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
sos-3.6-7.el8

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. man sosreport
2.
3.

Actual results:
The man page shows an incorrect path

Expected results:
The path referenced in the man page is correct

Additional info:

Comment 1 Jose Castillo 2019-01-09 15:11:16 UTC
Resent the patch upstream to remove completely the path in the man page as advised by Bryn.

Comment 2 Pavel Moravec 2019-01-10 07:54:35 UTC
devel_ack+ for 8.1

Comment 5 Pavel Moravec 2020-05-08 11:11:43 UTC
This should have been fixed in 8.2 (or maybe even sooner) in sos-3.8-2 due to rebase of sos to 3.8 there.

If you feel otherwise, let reopen the BZ.
