Description prabirm 2000-08-21 22:21:13 EDT
Problem1
------
When I invoke kppp from KDE menu, it asks for root password and then
NOTHING
happens after entering password. The kppp runs (I verified by logging as
root
and executing 'ps -e | grep kppp') but nothing comes on screen. Then I kill
the
kppp (as root) and invoke it again from KDE menu. This time the kppp window
comes up. (If I start kppp as root, then this problem does not occur)

I have seen this problem happening everyday CONSISTENTLY over last 2
months.

Problem 2
-------
When kppp gets connected to internet(for the first time after kppp screen
comes)
the ppp link does not work most of the times.(ping does not work for
example).
To overcome this problem, I disconnect kppp and connect again. This time it
works. This behaviour is also consistent(90% of the time).
Comment 1 Bernhard Rosenkraenzer 2000-08-23 14:33:29 EDT
Both of them are fixed in the current version.
Either upgrade, or edit /etc/security/console.apps/kppp to have SESSION=true
