I swear I had added a comment here. I guess I must have failed to submit it. Aargh. Anyway, I pushed the update to rawhide on Friday and did a build for F30 which didn't complete before I left for the weekend. Back now and will push that out. The upstream clamav 0.101 compatibility is still broken though the patch is now smaller. Thoughts on F29? There's nothing here but minor bugfixes so it should be safe, but also not really high-priority. Also, looking at the upstream changes regarding the new cyrus_group configuration option prompted me to look the user/group portion of the specfile and I have to say I'm confused. Why do we create the user with primary group %cyrusgroup but create the group named "saslauth"? This seems to work by default only because %cyrusgroup is set to 'mail' which is always provided by setup. This seems like something that needs fixing but I'm not sure if anything at all might somehow be relying on it.
cyrus-imapd-3.0.9-1.fc30 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 30. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2019-8505ac9dd8
Note that the commit where things were changed to use 'saslauth' was f1a444adf71040c29e3c69511d8d4d7e7479ec64 back in 2011. Ostensibly that was about removing the "||:" bits from the %pre block but it also chenged from using %{_cyrusgroup} to hardcoding "saslauth" even though %{_cyrusgroup} was defined to mail at the time.
