all the locations that gcc says
"warning: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules"
are the culprits.

adding -fno-strict-aliasing should workaround...

db4-4.3.27-5.fc4 has been pushed for FC4, which should resolve this issue.  If these problems are still present in this version, then please make note of it in this bug report.
