Please do not use technobabble terminology such as "LV", "PV", and such. Please
spell out "logical volume", "physical volume". That would make life much easier
for translators, plus make these messages more consistent with other
system-config-lvm messages that do spell out them.
Comment 1 Jim Parsons 2005-11-09 15:56:42 EST
I disagree here - all of the cli commands use PV, LV, or VG as a prefix. The man
pages use these terms. The context where they are used here is absolutely
acceptable, and would be overbearing and redundant if spelled out. This is not

Comment 2 Christian Rose 2005-11-09 17:11:52 EST
At the very least, it is inconsistent -- either you use the terms "Logical
Volume" everywhere, or you should not use it at all.
Comment 3 Jim Parsons 2005-12-01 15:13:06 EST
The window title of the offending dialog is now renamed to Create A New Logical
Volume (LV).

Comment 5 Bug Zapper 2008-04-03 12:35:05 EDT
Based on the date this bug was created, it appears to have been reported
against rawhide during the development of a Fedora release that is no
longer maintained. In order to refocus our efforts as a project we are
flagging all of the open bugs for releases which are no longer
maintained. If this bug remains in NEEDINFO thirty (30) days from now,
we will automatically close it.

If you can reproduce this bug in a maintained Fedora version (7, 8, or
rawhide), please change this bug to the respective version and change
the status to ASSIGNED. (If you're unable to change the bug's version
or status, add a comment to the bug and someone will change it for you.)

Thanks for your help, and we apologize again that we haven't handled
these issues to this point.

The process we're following is outlined here:

We will be following the process here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping to ensure this
doesn't happen again.
