help is available via help menu item and F1

What kind of help are you expecting?

This would be a good upstream RFE IMO.

I reported an upstream bug for this:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-characters/-/issues/74
although gnome-characters' UI is fairly simple and intuitive.
