Description of problem: While searching for the hosts in Host Collection Membership Management the results only consider the hosts which have atleast 1 host added in them. Rest all are ignored even if they should be listed in few scenarios/search queries. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Red Hat Satellite 6.6 Beta How reproducible: Every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. On Satellite GUI --> Hosts --> Host Collections --> click on any host collection --> Details --> 'Host Collection Membership Management' --> search for "host != first.example.com" in search box [this should provide the list of host collections in which host 'first.example.com' is not added. If you have some host collection which is empty then it should be a part of above result list but satellite will never show this empty host collection in the search results. 2. Now add 1 another host to that empty host collection and follow the STEP-1. You will now be able to see that particular host collection in the search results. Actual results: Empty host collection are ignored by the search queries. Expected results: Empty host collection should not be ignored by the search queries. Additional info: Same issue observed on 6.5.2 as well.
Thank you for your interest in Satellite 6. We have evaluated this request, and while we recognize that it is a valid request, we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. This is due to other priorities for the product, and not a reflection on the request itself. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX.
