Description Anthony Messina 2019-11-02 23:08:09 UTC
Similar to #1624533. After an upgrade from F30 to F31, the "auth_gssapi_client.so" cannot be loaded (from Akonadi) as the plugin path seems to be wrong again, now referencing "/usr//usr/lib64/mariadb/plugin/auth_gssapi_client.so"

The errors from Akonadi are as follows:

$ org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Starting up the Akonadi Server...
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Failed to use database "akonadi_amessina"
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Database error: "Plugin auth_gssapi_client could not be loaded: /usr//usr/lib64/mariadb/plugin/auth_gssapi_client.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory QMYSQL: Unable to connect"
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Failed to connect to database!
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Database error: "Plugin auth_gssapi_client could not be loaded: /usr//usr/lib64/mariadb/plugin/auth_gssapi_client.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory QMYSQL: Unable to connect"
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Failed to remove runtime connection config file
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Shutting down AkonadiServer...
org.kde.pim.akonadicontrol: Application '/usr/bin/akonadiserver' exited normally...

Damn ... thanks for heads up.

You are absolutelly correct.

There are even replies on the upstream commit, which says it breaks the functionality both in connector and server (where the connector is usually compiled in as a subproject)

file: 'include/mariadb_version.h.in'

Comment 2 Michal Schorm 2019-11-03 13:08:06 UTC
Alright, I prepared a hotfix and I want you to test it.

Here are builds of mariadb-connector-c
Rawhide: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=38730904
F31: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=38731147

And also, I want you to test MariaDB 10.3.18, to verify, the upstream issue https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-20569 is not applicable on Fedora thanks to the separated mariadb-connector-c.

--

I won't even make a BODHI update for MariaDB or the connetcor, if it won't fix your issue.

Comment 3 Anthony Messina 2019-11-03 15:48:19 UTC
Thank you for the quick response. I can test mariadb-connector-c. I don't see any 10.3.18 mariadb builds in Fedora Koji/Bodhi. My server is a production server for our environment so I can't test that until 10.3.18 packages are at least in testing.

FEDORA-2019-ceca287903 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 31. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2019-ceca287903

Comment 5 Michal Schorm 2019-11-04 10:40:20 UTC
I just created the update:
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2019-ceca287903
It may take up to a day to propagate from "pending" to the "updates-testing" repository.
