Description of problem:
i have Openoffice does not show Punjabi Interface properly(Only Squares are there) instead Punjabi characters.

when i open an application first time (first_time.png) it shows squares.
Second time (second_time.png) it shows only English.
Even i have installed language pack.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.it shows squares(not Punjabi)
2.it shows only English(not Punjabi)

Actual Results:  Punjabi is not there in interface

Expected Results:  Punjabi Interface

i have put both first time(first_time.png) and second time(second_time.png) on followling link:

This works for me, so this is probably a font dependant problem.

So from a terminal

> echo $LANG

to find out the default locale, probably pa_IN.UTF-8. if not

> export LANG=pa_IN.UTF-8

then

> oocalc &

if the menus are still displayed with squares, I need to know the application
font, so from the the gnome menu what is the font shown under

"desktop->preferences->font->application font" ?

Then take the attached binary fc-match and

> chmod u+x ./fc-match
> ./fc-match "name" 

where name is the fontname shown under application font above.

paste the results in here and I'll hopefully then be able to reproduce this problem.

As it works out of the box with up-to-date fontconfig/openoffice.org/gnome on
FC-4, I'll have to close this as works for me, unless there is extra data from
the above steps which enables me to reproduce this probem :-(
