In gromacs 2020 support for tabulated potential got dropped, it should hopefully be back in gromacs-2021 (see https://redmine.gromacs.org/issues/1347), however votca-csg uses that feature. Even though votca-csg compiles against gromacs-2020 for the I/O parts, it would fail at runtime. The users could use lammps instead of gromacs as well, but that isn't what most user run currently, hence I holding off on version bump to gromacs-2020 for a bit.
