Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 179117
[RHEL4] Evolution grabs & locks all X-input sometimes during recipient autocompletion in email composition window.

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050921 Red Hat/1.7.12-1.4.1
Description of problem:
When composing an email, and while typing in a recipient's name with autocompletion enabled, sometimes when the possible addresses are displayed in the drop-down window, evolution grabs the focus and all mouse & keyboard input and just hangs. I am forced to switch to a console and killall evolution.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an email composition window.
2. Start typing in a recipients name and wait for the autocompletion drop-down window to appear.
Actual Results: Sometimes it works fine and I can select the intended recipient from the list with either the keyboard or mouse, but sometimes it just hangs. Since evolution has now grabbed the x-focus and all mouse & keyboard input, I have to switch to a console and kill evolution.
Expected Results: Evolution should not hang with control of all x-input. It would be nice if it could at least just do a local grab within its own process/window instead of the global grab that it now does which forces me to kill it from the console just to return to non-evolution applications.
Evolution 2.0.2 is only being updated for security issues. Closing as WONTFIX.
