Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Hi,
I'm evaluating dovecot director on 7.7.1908
dovecot-2.2.36-3.el7_7.1.x86_64
When I deactivate a backend and poolmon is cathing the change and changes the state of the backend on the director I get these:
Feb 26 12:42:22 director: Info: doveadm: Host 10.0.0.33 changed down (vhost_count=100 last_updown_change=0)
Feb 26 12:42:22 director: Panic: file doveadm-connection.c: line 1097 (doveadm_connection_deinit): assertion failed: (conn->to_ring_sync_abort == NULL)
Feb 26 12:42:22 director: Fatal: master: service(director): child 29826 killed with signal 6 (core dumps disabled)
Feb 26 12:42:22 director: Info: Connecting to 10.100.100.11:9090 (as 10.100.100.12): Initial connection
Feb 26 12:42:40 director: Info: doveadm: Host 10.0.0.33 changed up (vhost_count=100 last_updown_change=1582713742)
Feb 26 12:42:40 director: Panic: file doveadm-connection.c: line 1097 (doveadm_connection_deinit): assertion failed: (conn->to_ring_sync_abort == NULL)
Feb 26 12:42:40 director: Fatal: master: service(director): child 29906 killed with signal 6 (core dumps disabled)
Feb 26 12:42:45 director: Info: Connecting to 10.100.100.11:9090 (as 10.100.100.12): Initial connection
I believe it has to do with this:
https://dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2018-September/112933.html
and patch:
https://github.com/dovecot/core/commit/c0583917fe760b2d901acf83387cc8edb6f99550?diff=unified
Is there a possibility to backport it?
best
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 life cycle has entered Maintenance Support Phase, which means that only qualified Critical and Important Security errata advisories (RHSAs) and some Urgent Priority Bug Fix errata advisories (RHBAs) will be released as they become available. Unfortunately, this issue was not selected to be included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7. We will now close this issue. We recommend moving the request to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 if applicable.
See the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Life Cycle for more details:
