Description Adam Huffman 2006-02-14 00:20:42 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051201 Fedora/1.5-1.1.fc4.nr Firefox/1.5

Description of problem:
Using echo mem > /sys/power/state, I was able to suspend a Vaio S1XP with great success. Networking, video and USB all worked on resume. However, with kernels since 1.1356, this doesn't work. In some cases, the suspend task doesn't completely properly. In all cases, the system does not resume i.e. there is a blank screen.

The newer kernels do not have the proprietary ATI driver loaded.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.6.14-1.1656_FC4

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. echo mem > /sys/power/state
2. Switch laptop back on
3.

Actual Results: System did not resume correctly

Expected Results: System should resume correctly.

This system is now running FC5 test 3 updated from the devel repository, and
suspending/resuming is working again.
