Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 182561
booting install with "linux xfs" still won't allow xfs on /
Last modified: 2007-11-30 17:11:24 EST
Description of problem:
Diskdruid won't allow xfs on / partition
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot CD 1 with "linux xfs"
2. manually partition drive and try to format / as xfs
3. error: xfs not allowed on boot parition
Not allowed to install xfs on /
Allowed to install xfs on /
xfs is only not allowed for /boot. If you make a small (100 MB) ext3 partition
for /boot, you can have your / partition be xfs and that should work for you.
See bug 138673.
Thanks. I read the FAQ and readme, searched for xfs in the bug summeries, and
googled and didn't come across this important fact.
