This is upstream issue https://github.com/fmtlib/fmt/issues/1631 It is fixed with https://github.com/fmtlib/fmt/commit/e99809f29da1002e8b9246e9278084ad231174e5 I tested that that patch can be cherry-picked into 6.2.0 and fixes the issue. Would it be possible to include it in the fedora package?
FEDORA-2020-24265f826f has been submitted as an update to Fedora 32. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2020-24265f826f
I have tested the new package and I am now able to build most of scylla on a fedora 32 installation. It looks like there is another issue with the the new fmt, but it is probably an independent bug (maybe in scylla, maybe in fmt). I am investigating and will report.
The remaining issue is actually in gcc: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1830134
