latest boost release is

 Version 1.74.0
 August 14th, 2020 05:02 GMT

current versions @ fedora are

 https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/boost

are

 Fedora 33	boost-1.73.0-7.fc33
 Fedora 32	boost-1.69.0-18.fc32

could you pls bump build versions @ fedora for _both_ f32 & f33 ?

f32 in particular is quite out of date.

> could you pls bump build versions @ fedora for _both_ f32 & f33 ?

No, absolutely not.

> f32 in particular is quite out of date.

And it will stay that way. Boost guarantees no ABI compatibility between releases, so upgrading to a new Boost release invalidates every Fedora package that is linked to it.

The version of Boost doesn't change once a Fedora release it made.

Comment 6 pgnet.dev 2020-08-30 18:20:01 UTC
ah, fedora wires it into the _os_. then sounds like multi-version isn't supported atm then for boost.

Current boost libs are needed here for dev envs.

I'll fork master's rpm spec and build into a non-system location.

Thx.
