Description Mike McCune 2020-08-03 22:13:16 UTC
Document URL: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_satellite/6.7/html/upgrading_and_updating_red_hat_satellite/updating_satellite_server_capsule_server_and_content_hosts#updating_content_hosts_to_next_minor_version

Section Number and Name: 5.3. Updating Content Hosts

Describe the issue:

Step 4 optional states the user should run 'satellite-maintain service stop' but this makes no sense in the context of a Content Host as that is a Satellite server command. Just remove the 1st command:

"""
Optional: If a kernel update occurred since the last reboot, stop the satellite-maintain services and reboot the system:

# satellite-maintain service stop
# reboot
"""

Should read:

"""
Optional: If a kernel update occurred since the last reboot, reboot the system:

# reboot
"""

Upon review of our valid but aging backlog the Satellite Team has concluded that this Bugzilla does not meet the criteria for a resolution in the near term, and are planning to close in a month. This message may be a repeat of a previous update and the bug is again being considered to be closed. If you have any concerns about this, please contact your Red Hat Account team. Thank you.

Comment 4 Brad Buckingham 2023-05-08 11:03:23 UTC
Thank you for your interest in Red Hat Satellite. We have evaluated this request, and while we recognize that it is a valid request, we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. This is due to other priorities for the product, and not a reflection on the request itself. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this feel free to contact your Red Hat Account Team. Thank you.
