Similarly to what we have done in #171238 for RHEL4 U3, we want to go again through the safe self-contained bugfixes from glibc trunk and what is easily and safely backportable add into RHEL4 U3 glibc. We have already identified some fixes that were added to the FC4 glibc errata released today and there are others that have been added since the time FC4 glibc errata was prepared.
This issue is on Red Hat Engineering's list of planned work items for the upcoming Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.4 release. Engineering resources have been assigned and barring unforeseen circumstances, Red Hat intends to include this item in the 4.4 release.
