We've identified a bug in qemu-kvm (bz 1876635) that prevents setting smartcard devices on RHEL 8.3. Once that bz is fixed we need to make sure the dependencies are set correctly to get the fix and to enable smartcard again in OST
Just for the record: when you said RHEL-8.3 you mean RHEL with advanced virtualization, right? Should be working fine in RHEL.

We get the fix from the platform without changing the dependencies so it doesn't block 4.4.3 But we still need to enable smartcard again in OST
Need to test basic sanity - that a VM which is set with smartcard runs successfully
Tested with: ovirt-engine-4.4.3.8-0.1.el8ev.noarch vdsm-4.40.35-1.el8ev.x86_64 qemu-kvm-5.1.0-13.module+el8.3.0+8382+afc3bbea.x86_64 libvirt-6.6.0-6.module+el8.3.0+8125+aefcf088.x86_64 Steps: 1. Create a VM with smartcard enabled 2. Run the VM Results: The VM runs successfully. <smartcard mode='passthrough' type='spicevmc'> <alias name='ua-b55028f0-7759-4843-a7c8-184810471dda'/> <address type='ccid' controller='0' slot='0'/> </smartcard>
