Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 188706
Corrupted screen for Radeon R100 PCI w/compositing manager on
Last modified: 2007-11-30 17:11:30 EST
Description of problem:
The "AIGLX" extension to "Xorg" leads to a corrupted rendering of the
"GNOME" desktop when the "metacity" compositing manager is enabled.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Switch on "composite" extension in "xorg.xonf".
2. Enable compositing manager in "metacity".
The screen is all white with drop shadows. The menus become
visible on opening. So "gnome-terminal" and other applications
when launched from the "GNOME" menu as the attached screenshot
shows. Effects do actually work ("fluid").
The desktop should be rendered correctly.
System is FC5 with updated packages "mesa-libGL-6.5-3" and
"xorg-x11-server-Xorg-126.96.36.1991-1" in addition to the
also upgraded "radeon" driver package.
