Description James Hunt 2006-04-19 03:29:04 EDT
Description of problem:

Running, /usr/sbin/xenguest-install.py generates erroneous error:

Starting install...
Using config file "/etc/xen/vm1".
Error: Error creating domain: I need 513 MiB, but dom0_min_mem is 256 and
shrinking to 256 MiB would leave only 2263 MiB free.
If your install has exited, you can restart your guest by running
'xm create -c vm1'. Otherwise, you can reconnect to the console
by running 'xm console vm1'

This is the same problem as first reported on bug 184393, but I don't have the

As can be seen from the error message

> Error: Error creating domain: I need 513 MiB, but dom0_min_mem is 256 and
> shrinking to 256 MiB would leave only 2263 MiB free.

Xen is doing a bogus memory check - it wants 513 MB, and is complaining that
there is only 2263 MB free ! This bug was fixed in Xen 3.0.3 which has been
pushed to FC5 a little while back.
