This bug is part of the non-responsive maintainer procedure for avsej, following https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Policy_for_nonresponsive_package_maintainers/. Please respond if you are still active in Fedora and want to maintain grpc.
I'm still active on Fedora, but has some shortage of time to maintain grpc package. So if someone could help, I will be glad to transfer maintenance.
I'm looking into updating grpc to 1.34, but it appears that I have to update protobuf for that, which requires yet another java package. I could help out with grpc, but I don't fell comfortable with taking it over fully myself. Gwyn, would you be willing to help out as well?
I could. I don't have the cycles to take it over 100%, but I can assist.
If nobody else wants to take on the main weight of being primary maintainer for gRPC, I guess I wouldn't mind giving it a try myself (especially with other comaintainers helping out) due to me using it in various projects and needing up-to-date versions for development & deployment & whatnot, and I have the time to spare for it.
Let's follow up on the grpc discussion in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1794566
I will close this ticket, as I'm still active on other packages, but not on GRPC
