Description Dan Čermák 2020-11-09 21:28:09 UTC
This bug is part of the non-responsive maintainer procedure for avsej, following https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Policy_for_nonresponsive_package_maintainers/.

Please respond if you are still active in Fedora and want to maintain grpc.

Comment 1 Sergey Avseyev 2020-12-24 14:04:48 UTC
I'm still active on Fedora, but has some shortage of time to maintain grpc package. So if someone could help, I will be glad to transfer maintenance.

Comment 2 Dan Čermák 2020-12-24 19:09:23 UTC
I'm looking into updating grpc to 1.34, but it appears that I have to update protobuf for that, which requires yet another java package. I could help out with grpc, but I don't fell comfortable with taking it over fully myself.

Gwyn, would you be willing to help out as well?

Comment 3 Gwyn Ciesla 2020-12-24 19:11:28 UTC
I could. I don't have the cycles to take it over 100%, but I can assist.

Comment 4 Janet Blackquill 2020-12-25 19:06:09 UTC
If nobody else wants to take on the main weight of being primary maintainer for gRPC, I guess I wouldn't mind giving it a try myself (especially with other comaintainers helping out) due to me using it in various projects and needing up-to-date versions for development & deployment & whatnot, and I have the time to spare for it.

Comment 5 Dan Čermák 2020-12-28 05:41:43 UTC
Let's follow up on the grpc discussion in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1794566

Comment 6 Sergey Avseyev 2021-01-04 19:20:02 UTC
I will close this ticket, as I'm still active on other packages, but not on GRPC
