Description of problem:
When opening RStudio from the Gnome applications menu, Rstudio crashes sometimes. After retry, it starts and works without problems.

Not predictable

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start RStudio
2. Retry after crash
3.

Running RStudio

Expected results:


Additional info:
The problem started after the last regular update.
I tried to report but reporting fails with the message that no connection can be established with https://retrace.fedoraproject.org

Thanks for the report. Probably related to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1892701. I added "env QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb" to /usr/share/applications/rstudio.desktop to prevent such crashes, but there's not much more we can do. Less so without a core dump or some error log.

This bug was reported against an old version of RStudio. Hopefully, the issue would be solved in the current release (1.4). If not, please, do not hesistate to reopen the issue to provide new info.
