Description Christian Himmler 2021-01-21 15:56:12 UTC
Description of problem:
The version provided by epel8 is currently 2.4.3 and the latest offical version based on keepassxc.org is 2.6.3. The build pipeline for keepassxc (https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=24215) shows failed entries like keepassxc-2.6.0-1.el8. Is this a bug in the build process or is keepassxc not supported anymore at least for epel 8?

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 2.4.3

Read attribute "Depends on" in ticket https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1859390
TL;DR: we are missing dependencies

Comment 2 Christian Himmler 2021-01-21 18:15:07 UTC
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it possible to install the missing dependencies via ```gem install asciidoctor```. I've never build a package myself so this could be the wrong way to handle this.

The purpose of distribution packaging is to avoid users having to mess with their systems by manually installing libraries etc.
I am working right now to investigate if I can get rid of that dependency. Meanwhile you are forced to use upstream package on website https://keepassxc.org/download/#linux

Forget what I said, with some small workarounds I managed to compile on EPEL8

I've installed keepassxc from epel-testing, looks fine to me there are no bugs or issues at the moment at least I doesn't find them yet. Thank you for your support Germano.
