Problem Description:
When i boot with intel-agp kernel crash my system (panic)

That's what kernel reports when i change drivers/char/agp/intel-agp.c

static struct agp_bridge_driver intel_830_driver = {
        .owner                  = THIS_MODULE,
        .aperture_sizes         = intel_i830_sizes,
        .size_type              = FIXED_APER_SIZE,
        .num_aperture_sizes     = 3,
        .needs_scratch_page     = TRUE,
        .configure              = intel_i830_configure,
        .fetch_size             = intel_i830_fetch_size,
        .cleanup                = intel_i830_cleanup,
        .tlb_flush              = intel_i810_tlbflush,

        .agp_enable             = intel_i810_agp_enable,
        .cache_flush            = global_cache_flush,

        .free_gatt_table        = intel_i830_free_gatt_table,
        .insert_memory          = intel_i830_insert_entries,
        .remove_memory          = intel_i830_remove_entries,

        .agp_destroy_page       = agp_generic_destroy_page,
};

 .needs_scratch_page     = TRUE,  to FALSE
And Kernel not crash and agp not Function correctly.

Steps to reproduce:

I Not have kernel with LKCD on Fedora Core 4 or Fedora Core 5...

Comment 2 Dave Jones 2006-10-16 17:27:51 UTC
A new kernel update has been released (Version: 2.6.18-1.2200.fc5)
based upon a new upstream kernel release.

Please retest against this new kernel, as a large number of patches
go into each upstream release, possibly including changes that
may address this problem.

This bug has been placed in NEEDINFO state.
Due to the large volume of inactive bugs in bugzilla, if this bug is
still in this state in two weeks time, it will be closed.

Should this bug still be relevant after this period, the reporter
can reopen the bug at any time. Any other users on the Cc: list
of this bug can request that the bug be reopened by adding a
comment to the bug.

In the last few updates, some users upgrading from FC4->FC5
have reported that installing a kernel update has left their
systems unbootable. If you have been affected by this problem
please check you only have one version of device-mapper & lvm2
installed. See bug 207474 for further details.

If this bug is a problem preventing you from installing the
release this version is filed against, please see bug 169613.

If this bug has been fixed, but you are now experiencing a different
problem, please file a separate bug for the new problem.

Thank you.

Comment 4 Anton Vassiliou 2007-11-30 19:42:53 UTC
I cant get a live cd boot from Fedora 7, Ubuntu 7.10, PCLOS 2007 Final,
sysrescd, on a similar mobo, ASRock P4i45GV R5.0 which claims that the ASRock
A.G.I. 8X is "A gift for VGA upgrade on i845GV". never look a gift horse in the
mouth I suppose.

Comment 5 Jon Stanley 2007-12-31 00:40:24 UTC
reassigning to F7 since this issue exists there. However, you may also want to
consider filing an upstream bug at http://bugzilla.kernel.org

Comment 6 Christopher Brown 2008-02-16 03:04:57 UTC
Daniel,

Have you been able to test with Fedora 8 or even Fedora 9 Alpha? Have you
considered filing this bug upstream?

Comment 7 Brian Powell 2008-04-25 03:44:50 UTC
Note that maintenance for Fedora 7 will end 30 days after the GA of Fedora 9.

Comment 8 Brian Powell 2008-04-25 05:05:03 UTC
The information we've requested above is required in order
to review this problem report further and diagnose/fix the
issue if it is still present. Since there have not been any
updates to the report since thirty (30) days or more since we
requested additional information, we're assuming the problem
is either no longer present in the current Fedora release, or
that there is no longer any interest in tracking the problem.

Setting status to "CLOSED INSUFFICIENT_DATA". If you still
experience this problem after updating to our latest Fedora
release and can provide the information previously requested,
please feel free to reopen the bug report.

Thank you in advance.

Note that maintenance for Fedora 7 will end 30 days after the GA of Fedora 9.
