It'd be nice if instead of having to add something to rc.local to echo 1 >
/proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward you had a variable you could set in
/etc/sysconfig/network to do it.  This should be pretty easily to
implement, and it would be a welcome addition to RedHat 7.1.

look at /etc/sysctl.conf.
