Description Satyajit Das 2021-05-03 19:41:48 UTC
Document URL:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_satellite/6.9/html/upgrading_and_updating_red_hat_satellite/updating_satellite_server_capsule_server_and_content_hosts#updating_content_hosts_to_next_minor_version

Section Number and Name:

5.4. Updating Content Hosts

Describe the issue:

The step mentioned to update the gofer package on the content host is incorrect.

1. Update the gofer package:

# satellite-maintain packages update gofer // This step is applicable on the Capsule server not on the client/content host.

Suggestions for improvement:

# yum update gofer // To update gofer on the content host, yum is the only option. so you need to replace the satellite-maintain with yum.

Additional information:

Please update the same on satellite 6.8 doc( UPGRADING AND UPDATING RED HAT SATELLITE)

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_satellite/6.8/html-single/upgrading_and_updating_red_hat_satellite/index#updating_content_hosts_to_next_minor_version

Section Number and Name:

5.4. Updating Content Hosts

1. Until BZ#1649764 is resolved, update the gofer package: // Remove the BZ#1649764

  # satellite-maintain packages update gofer // Replace satellite-maintain with yum, the new command should be # yum update gofer
