Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 195833
mouse button emulation missing (MacBook)
Last modified: 2007-11-30 17:11:35 EST
Description of problem:
The module for 3 button mouse emulation is missing (mac_hid), therefore there is
no way to right click using the built in touchpad
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.6.16-1.2289_FC6 (Rawhide 16-Jun-06)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to enable mouse button emu:
2. echo "1" > /proc/sys/dev/mac_hid/mouse_button_emulation
/proc/sys/dev/mac_hid is not there
mouse button emulation supported / configured at install time ?
To get mouse button emulation to work the kernel must be compiled with
MAC_EMUMOUSEBTN enabled. Normally this function is only available on PPC Macs.
Please consider attached patch (from www.mactel-linux.org)
Without this patchs Mactel are no very usable under X without an external mouse.

OK, this bug has been ignored for several months now. It would be nice if
someone would actually do something with it. Thanks.
Any chance this will be fixed before the release of FC6?
Fixed in F7 and F8.
