Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 196039
Wrong icon for Thunderbird in decorations and window list
Last modified: 2008-02-08 11:17:39 EST
Description of problem:
Windows for Thunderbird appear as the default "empty window" icon, rather than a
Thunderbird specific-icon, in the gnome-panel's window switcher and in
metacity's top-left window decoration and the alt-tab window-switching window.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Be running metacity as the window manager
2. Click on "Applications->Internet->Thunderbird Email"
3. Press alt-tab
Whilst launching from the desktop menu, the correct Thunderbird icon appears in
the window switcher for "Starting Thunderbird Email". However, once the app has
started, Thunderbird's window's icon is the generic window icon in the top-left
of the decorations, and in the alt-tab view.
Should use thunderbird's icon, from e.g. the
"Applications->Internet->Thunderbird Email" menu item
Works OK for Firefox, both during launch, and after launch.
Should the app be setting the _NET_WM_ICON property directly?
See e.g. the implementation of gdk_window_set_icon_list here:
