The default kernel has SMP capability as documented in the release notes
Comment 2 Joachim Backes 2006-07-03 09:33:36 EDT
I have to modify: I don't mean FC5, but FC4: It seems that
kernel-2.6.16-1.2115_FC4 provides the latest SMP Version for x86_64.
"yum update" presents kernel-2.6.17-1.2139_FC4, which is no smp kernel despite
of the fact that previously each time I installed a smp kernel on my SUN Fire
V40Z which is a 4xOpteron dual core system.

cat /proc/cpuinfo listed only one CPU.
