Description of problem: When upstream releases a new version, gpodder opens a dialog offering version upgrade containing the following kind of text: New version available New version available Installed version: 3.10.20 Newest version: 3.10.21 Release date: 2021-07-20T06:47:30Z Download the latest version from gpodder.org? No/Yes This is not useful when upgrades are managed by the operating system. Gpodder should be patched to remove that notification or even better, built using a switch that disables that. The switch may have to be added to upstream build script. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.10.20 and it is very likely that this happens every time there is a new release. How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install gpodder-3.10.20 2. Start gpodder Actual results: The version upgrade dialog opens Expected results: No dialog, upgrades are managed by the OS. Additional info: I will put this on my list of things to do, so I might work to resolve this myself at some point.
Filed upstream.
