Description of problem: I have a schematic in Kicad that I have previously been able to simulate. Now when I go to the simulator menu item Kicad crashes due to not being able to find libngspice.so.0.0.0. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kicad-5.1.10-1.fc34.x86_64 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new project in Kicad 2. Open schematic 3. Go to Tools > Simulator Actual results: Schematic window gives warning 'Missing ngspice shared library' Main project window gives error 'libngspice.so.0.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory' Expected results: Simulator window opens Additional info: I do not have libngspice.so.0.0.0, but I do have: - /usr/lib64/libngspice.so.0 - /usr/lib64/libngspice.so.0.0.1 Running 'sudo journalctl -xe | grep kicad' shows: Aug 23 18:59:30 jonsbo.local audit[46732]: ANOM_ABEND auid=1000 uid=1000 gid=1000 ses=3 subj=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:unconfined_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 pid=46732 comm="kicad" exe="/usr/bin/kicad" sig=11 res=1 Aug 23 18:59:30 jonsbo.local kernel: kicad[46732]: segfault at 7ffe00000005 ip 00007fec5b510354 sp 00007ffdc8258160 error 4 in libgobject-2.0.so.0.6800.3[7fec5b4ee000+30000] Aug 23 18:59:31 jonsbo.local systemd-coredump[50651]: Process 46732 (kicad) of user 1000 dumped core. #34 0x00005583cc6614fc main (kicad + 0x6f4fc) #36 0x00005583cc665ece _start (kicad + 0x73ece) ░░ Subject: Process 46732 (kicad) dumped core ░░ Process 46732 (kicad) crashed and dumped core. Thanks for the report. I can reproduce the problem, and I'll run a build of the package to pick up the new ngspice library. It will take a little while, but it should be available in the "testing" area later today. If enough people test and up-vote the testing version, it will become generally available quickly.

I'm having the same issue with kicad-6.0.10-1.fc36.x86_64...
I'm working on a fix. It should be ready for testing within 12 hours or so. In the meantime, please try: sudo dnf install libngspice ngspice-codemodel That should bring in the missing pieces.
