Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 199671
OpenOffice.org writer shows incorrect illustration number in preview
Last modified: 2007-11-30 17:11:38 EST
Description of problem:
When setting a caption for an inserted picture (illustration), the preview
window always shows "Illustration 1" when it should show "Illustration n+1"
(where 'n' is the current number of illustrations in the document).
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open new text document in Writer
2. Insert->Picture->From File...
3. select a graphic to insert
4. Right-click on graphic
5. Select "Caption..." (the Caption window will pop up).
6. Notice the bottom of the Caption windows shows a preview of how
the caption will appear. However, if you type "foobar" into the "caption"
field, the preview will then show, "Illustration 1: foobar" even if
you already have other illustrations.
7. Click OK to close the caption Window.
The caption will be inserted with the correct Illustration number and text,
although the preview will have incorrectly showed "Illustration 1: ..."
regardless of how many existing Illustrations your document already has.
The preview should query the number of illustrations in the document, and add 1
to that value before showing the Illustration number in the preview.
