Description Stefan Nemeth 2021-09-22 13:48:29 UTC
Description of problem:

information (list of hosts especially) in all hosts table, insights inventory in satellite and in cloud.redhat.com may differ. Part of the problem is cleanup running 1x/month on cloud and hosts not getting removed from insights as they are deleted from satellite. Can we create a or button to satellite monitor->dashboard to run comparison and tell what is missing or what is extra and where?

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

6.10
7.0

How reproducible:

100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1.setup satellite with insights reporting
2.register hosts to satellite and insights
3.sync insights with cloud
4.delete host from one place or another

Actual results:

host deleted from all hosts is still in cloud and insights inventory and vice versa and there is no way to tell which host is missing or is extra where

Expected results:

have option to report what is missing or what is extra in comparison

Additional info:
it would be OK just as a rake script with output to csv

Upon review of our valid but aging backlog the Satellite Team has concluded that this Bugzilla does not meet the criteria for a resolution in the near term, and are planning to close in a month. This message may be a repeat of a previous update and the bug is again being considered to be closed. If you have any concerns about this, please contact your Red Hat Account team. Thank you.

Thank you for your interest in Red Hat Satellite. We have evaluated this request, and while we recognize that it is a valid request, we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. This is due to other priorities for the product, and not a reflection on the request itself. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this feel free to contact your Red Hat Account Team. Thank you.
