Yes but it seems https://aerc-mail.org/ still points to the original made by Drew. Why should we package yjis fork over the official version?
Hmm, the original is no longer being maintained and the maintainer would not like to get involved. This is an actively maintained fork (Relevant logs from #aerc [0]). If I remember correctly, rjarry also has +o status on the relevant aerc channels on IRC. Here is a link to the 0.6.0 release notes/ shortlog[1].
